The DS1806 is a six-channel, digitally-controlled, solid state linear potentiometer. Each potentiometer is comprised of 63 equal positions that are set and controlled via 3-wire serial interface. The DS1806 can be daisy-chained allowing multiple-device control via a single processor.

One DS1806 can replace several mechanical potentiometers in any application requiring multiparameter adjustment with a single processor. As a digital circuit, it is designed for extremely low-power consumption while providing digital accuracy and reliability under flexible, automatic processor control.
