The MAX9728A evaluation kit (EV kit) is a fully assembled and tested surface-mount circuit board that evaluates the MAX9728A DirectDrive™ stereo headphone amplifier. Maxim's patented† DirectDrive technology eliminates the need for DC-blocking capacitors on the stereo outputs of the amplifier. Designed to operate from a 2.7V to 5.5V DC power supply, the EV kit is capable of delivering up to 42mW per channel into a 16 load or 63mW per channel into a 32 load at 1% THD+N (VDD = 5V).

The EV kit can be configured as a line driver to deliver 2VRMS into a 10k load from a single 3.3V DC supply. The MAX9728A EV kit also evaluates the MAX9728B IC.
