Note to Editor:
The MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383* are dual, 12-bit, 1.25Msps, simultaneous-sampling ADCs.
These devices allow twice as much data to be transferred at a given clock rate, thus broadening the choice of host processors.
To maximize data transfer, each ADC features a dedicated serial output.
The MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383 are ideal for motor-control, rotary-resolver, and I/Q-sampling applications.
SUNNYVALE, CA—October 6, 2008—Maxim Integrated Products (PINK OTC MARKETS: MXIM) introduces the MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383 dual, 12-bit, 1.25Msps, simultaneous-sampling ADCs. Each of the two ADCs features an independent serial peripheral interface (SPI™) for host communication, allowing the fastest clock required on each interface to be reduced to 20MHz while supporting the maximum sampling rate. Alternatively, designers can combine the two data streams to use only a single SPI port if the sampling rate is slower or if the host's SPI interface can operate in excess of 40MHz. This flexible architecture broadens the choice of host microcontrollers or DSPs. To further enhance flexibility, the inputs can be configured as either four single-ended or two differential channels to allow the same MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383 platform to be used for different applications. This configurability reduces inventory requirements and speeds time to market.
Excellent AC performance (71dB SINAD), guaranteed DC accuracy (±1.25 LSB INL, max and ±1 LSB DNL, max), and fast simultaneous sampling make these devices ideal for motor-control, rotary-resolver, and I/Q-sampling applications.
The MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383 are fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range, and are available in a space-saving, 5mm x 5mm, 20-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $4.98 (1000-up, FOB USA).
