MAXIM'S ULTRA-LOW-VOLTAGE SOT23 µP SUPERVISORS MONITOR SUPPLIES DOWN TO 0.9V WITH NO EXTERNAL COMPONENTS
Note to Editor: The MAX6841-MAX6845 are SOT23 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits designed to monitor 0.9V systems without external components.
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 19, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6841-MAX6845 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor supply rails of 0.9V to 1.5V in µP and digital systems, these devices are ideal for monitoring low-voltage core supplies or single-cell battery applications.
Whenever a monitored voltage falls below the reset threshold or manual reset is asserted, the µP's reset output asserts and stays asserted for a minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold and the manual reset input is deasserted. The MAX6841-MAX6845 are available with six factory-set reset thresholds from 0.788V to 1.338V and include a manual reset input. The MAX6843/MAX6844/MAX6845 feature a user-adjustable threshold (187mV below VCC) that allows other voltages to be monitored. Five reset timing options are available, with typical values of 150µs (voltage-detector version), 1.5ms, 30ms, 210ms, and 1680ms.
The MAX6841/MAX6843 have active-low, push-pull reset outputs; the MAX6841/MAX6842/MAX6844 have active-high, push-pull reset outputs. The MAX6842/MAX6845 have active-low, open-drain reset outputs.
The MAX6841-MAX6845 are available in a 5-pin SOT23 package and are fully specified over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.16 (2,500-up or 10,000-up, FOB USA).
